Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-09-26.5 · Effective 26 September 2026
1. Joining AV
These terms govern your use of the Auto Visionary app and its community features. Registration requires your agreement to these terms and acknowledgement of our Privacy Notice. Give accurate information, use your own account and keep your password secure. Do not impersonate anyone, create accounts to evade restrictions or let others use your membership. Approval is discretionary and is not a guarantee of another member’s identity, intentions or conduct.
2. Respect the community
Use AV lawfully and respectfully. Bullying, hate speech, discrimination, threats, harassment, abuse, stalking, sexual exploitation, scams and unlawful content are prohibited. Do not publish someone’s private information, registration details or location without permission. Do not organise or encourage dangerous driving, unlawful racing, trespass or obstruction. Follow road laws, venue rules and lawful instructions. Never use the app while driving.
3. Keep member content private
Do not copy, screenshot, record, forward or publish private messages, member information, event locations or other restricted app content outside AV without permission from the relevant people and rights holders. Official share invitations and content expressly marked for sharing are exceptions. This rule does not prevent reporting a crime, obtaining confidential legal advice, preserving evidence of abuse, making a protected disclosure or complying with the law. We apply the same duty of care to member privacy as described in our Privacy Notice. No app can guarantee that recipients will not make copies.
4. Messaging and connections
Only send relevant, personal and respectful messages. No unsolicited advertising, promotion of other meets or groups, Telegram or WhatsApp invitation links, bulk messaging, repeated near-identical messages or attempts to bypass filters. Respect rejected requests and blocks; do not contact people through alternative accounts. Do not send unwanted sexual material, malicious files or content you lack permission to share. Automated checks can make mistakes; contact management to challenge a restriction.
Messages and message attachments are encrypted in storage, but are not end-to-end encrypted. AV’s service holds the encryption key and decrypts content to deliver messages and check text for prohibited material and repeated broadcasts. Do not treat AV as a confidential or anonymous communication service. The Privacy Notice explains access and limitations.
5. Security and fair use
No hacking, malware, denial-of-service attacks, scraping member data, credential theft, automated account creation, unauthorised security testing or attempts to bypass access controls, moderation, location limits or camera checks. Report vulnerabilities privately to management without accessing other people’s data. We may rate-limit actions and restrict access to protect members and the service.
AV uses certain account, device/browser, connection and app-usage information—including IP-derived access identifiers, session information, activity timestamps and approximate in-app screen time—alongside relevant service and moderation records to detect, prevent or investigate misuse and protect the legitimate interests of AV and its members. These interests include security, preventing fraud and spam, protecting restricted information, enforcing fair-use rules and service reliability. Using a VPN, proxy, private relay or shared connection does not exempt you from these rules. Attempts to use such services to evade membership restrictions, security measures or event-location controls may be investigated and dealt with under our moderation rules. Device usage means interaction with AV, not monitoring other apps or your wider device activity. Authorised staff may review relevant information to protect the community and enforce these rules. The Privacy Notice explains the information collected, purposes, lawful basis, access, retention and your rights.
Usage measurements can be incomplete or inaccurate. High screen time or frequent visits alone is not evidence of a breach, and screen-time totals do not automatically cause suspension or blacklisting. Staff consider relevant context, and you may challenge inaccurate information or appeal a restriction. Accepting these terms does not waive your data protection rights or authorise monitoring outside AV.
6. Verification and camera
We use your username, email, phone number, referral and live front-of-car photo, including its visible registration plate, to review your membership application and prevent abuse. You must have permission to photograph the vehicle and avoid capturing bystanders or unnecessary personal information. Browser camera permission is requested separately; no microphone permission is needed. A required photo cannot be completed without camera access. Plate text recognition checks format only; it does not establish ownership or verify a vehicle against official records. After three unsuccessful plate reads, you may submit the live photograph for manual review. This does not bypass membership approval. Private verification photos are not public profile photos.
7. Referrals and gifts
Only share your referral with people you know and trust. If someone you refer has their account flagged, your own membership may be reviewed and could be suspended or terminated. A flag is reviewed, not treated as proof. Management considers the evidence, seriousness, repeated patterns and any knowing assistance before acting against a referrer. You may appeal using the contact below.
Only approved referrals count towards a gift for each ten approved referrals. No self-referrals, duplicate accounts, bought referrals or manipulation. Gifts are arranged by AV; contact management about fulfilment. Gifts have no promised cash alternative. Fraudulent credits may be reversed after review. Legitimately earned rights and any mandatory refund rights are preserved.
8. Uploads and permission to use them
You retain ownership of your uploads. You confirm you have the necessary rights and permissions, including from identifiable people where required. You grant AV a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, moderate and display your community uploads within AV and to use service providers for these purposes. Gallery uploads require moderation. This licence does not make private messages or verification photos promotional material.
AV must obtain separate, specific permission before using identifiable member content outside the app for publicity, advertising or partner campaigns. You can decline without losing membership. We do not claim ownership of your content or an unlimited right to sell it. Deleting content or your account ends ordinary future use, subject to the retention rules in our Privacy Notice and copies already lawfully distributed with your permission.
9. Events and observations
AV provides an app for sharing event information and community observations. Events listed in the app may be organised independently. Listing, publishing, approving, moderating or sending notifications about an event does not, by itself, make Auto Visionary (AV), its app moderators, programmers, developers, or app and infrastructure hosting providers the event’s organiser, host, promoter, sponsor or venue operator. App hosting is distinct from hosting an event. A listing is not a promise that AV has inspected, approved or guaranteed the event’s safety, legality or arrangements.
The actual event organiser is responsible for its event arrangements and the duties that apply to its role, including any required permissions, venue arrangements, safety measures and insurance. Check who is organising an event and confirm relevant details directly before attending. Platform tools, attendance responses and observations do not replace the organiser’s responsibilities or emergency services. To the extent permitted by law, the app team and hosting providers do not assume responsibility for an independent organiser’s acts or omissions merely by providing the app or displaying a listing.
You remain responsible for your decisions, driving, insurance, vehicle condition and conduct. Event details, locations and times may change. Attendance is voluntary. The app does not guarantee the safety, legality or suitability of a venue or another person’s actions. Report observations honestly and only when personally observed. False reports, coordinated misuse and harassment are prohibited. Observations and push notifications are not emergency services and may be delayed or never delivered. In an emergency call 999 or 112; do not wait for AV.
10. Moderation, suspension and termination
AV may reject applications, remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate membership for breaches, credible safety or security concerns, fraud, unlawful conduct or repeated misuse. Urgent protective restrictions may precede investigation. A report alone is not proof. Where safe and lawful, we will give a reason and an opportunity to appeal to management. Application refusals and blacklisting require manager approval and a stated reason. Declined applicants can correct and resubmit their application using the same account. Blacklisted people cannot reapply; known email and phone matches are blocked, including after account deletion. You may contact management to appeal a mistaken identity match.
Membership spending does not exempt anyone from these rules. Termination can result in loss of access or benefits even where you have incurred costs. This does not permit unfair forfeiture, remove statutory rights or exclude a refund legally owed. Registration is currently free; any future paid service must disclose its price and applicable payment, cancellation and refund terms before purchase.
11. Responsibility and legal rights
To the extent permitted by law, AV is not responsible for loss, damage, fines or legal proceedings caused by your own unlawful or unsafe actions, or independently by another member. You remain accountable for what you upload and how you use the app. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, notification delivery or that members’ statements are accurate.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We remain responsible where applicable law makes us responsible, including for our own breaches. Consumer rights, data protection rights and access to courts or regulators are not waived. You do not agree to pay an unlimited indemnity for other people’s conduct.
12. Privacy, closure and changes
Our Privacy Notice explains verification, encryption, retention, service providers and your rights. Agreement to these terms is not consent to third-party marketing or indefinite data retention. Account deletion requires your password and includes a 60-day recovery period. You may ask management to assess an earlier erasure request.
We may update these terms for service, safety or legal reasons, with notice of material changes and fresh agreement where needed. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue where lawful. Contact management to raise a complaint or appeal; this does not restrict your legal remedies.
